DMAIG Update -- Three Days to THON -- Weekend Activities

Hello THON alumni! This is it...and we know you can feel it. THON 2010 starts in just three days, and everyone's excited to see the dancers take the floor, the kids take the BJC, and Larry take the stage! Penn State is ready for 46 hours FTK! We have a few quick updates for THON weekend activities, and you can stay in touch on Facebook at http://j.mp/4C3pPf and by following @dmaigeditor for updates throughout the week. Go State...Beat Cancer! Each week we'll share family profiles from the Family Relations committee...the stories that bring our hearts even closer to THON. This week, meet the Monica Lee Family.Monica Lee was preparing herself for middle school when she noticed a large lump in her groin that was found to be cancer. As an adolescent going through treatment, Monica had a difficult time losing her hair, and spending time away from her friends. For her, cancer taught her a lot about who she really was and who she wanted to be. Monica turned to music, as it was something she didn't have to be healthy to do, and now attends University of Miami majoring in Music Therapy! She is so grateful for the second chance that THON gave her, and would like us to remember that "nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending!"Snow Can't Stop THON EventsThe Liberty Ball http://j.mp/bCvrj5 and Blue White Ball http://j.mp/biWN40 have both been rescheduled for March 6, so visit their links for more information for updates and new tickets opportunities.Alumni DancersCongratulations AND THANK YOU to this year's amazing alumni dancers and top fundraisers: Couple 295 Candace Brown and Diana Wolf and Couple 296 Lauren Rubenstein and Jaymelee Dorley! During my freshman year, I walked into Rec Hall on Friday afternoon to see what everything was about. I walked out of the building on Sunday evening, having stayed in Rec Hall for all but five hours that weekend. I was absolutely blown away by the atmosphere and completely amazed that thousands of students had come together to fight one common battle. Rules and Regulations Chairperson, Lauren KayHometown: Pipersville, PAFavorite THON moment: The last four hours of THON 2008 and 2009. Watching the total being raised each year really reaffirmed why I spent endless hours helping THON and its cause.
